Lyme Disease Awareness with the Portland Seadogs

Midcoast Lyme Disease Support & Education and the Maine CDC are partnering to co-host Lyme Disease Awareness and Prevention Day with the Portland Sea Dogs at the ballpark on Saturday, May 25th when the Sea Dogs host Altoona Curve at 1:00 PM at Hadlock Field.

The Midcoast Lyme Disease Support & Education group was created and exists to raise awareness, foster education, advocate for change and provide support for those affected by Lyme Disease and other tick-borne associated disease. To learn more, visit www.mldse.org !

General Admission tickets are unassigned seats (bleacher-style seats with backs) and are $8.00/person. Reserved seats are assigned seats in section 210 (stadium style seats) and are $10.00/person.

A portion of the ticket sales will benefit Midcoast Lyme Disease Support and Education and their ongoing mission to provide support and increase awareness about Lyme Disease in the community.

Belfast Library Event: Tick-borne Disease Educational Panel

May is Lyme Disease Awareness month, and Belfast Free Library will host a free Lyme and tick-borne disease educational panel Tuesday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m.

Panelists are Elizabeth Yori, ND, of Heritage Natural Medicine; Paula Jackson Jones, president and co-founder of Midcoast Lyme Disease Support & Education; and Paul McFarland, owner of Tick Talk Maine.

The panel will cover tick species in Maine and the diseases they carry, how to protect yourself against having a tick encounter, and steps to take if bitten by a tick, from risk exposure to diagnosing to treatment.

Mad Scientist Scramble for Lyme Disease 5k

SAVE THE DATE: MAY 19, 2019. The Ellsworth High School National Science Honor Society's Mad Scientist Scramble for Lyme Disease 5k! If a 5k isn’t your thing, join us instead for our 1 mile fun run! Registration for both events will be from 7:30-8:30 on the morning of the race, or you can mail it in before May 1st. The 1 mile fun run will begin at 8:30, and the 5k will begin at 9:30! The cost to register for the fun run is $10 and the 5k is $20.
