Midcoast
Lyme Disease Support & Education (MLDSE) is a 501c3 nonprofit
organization, created and co-founded in 2014 by two Lyme Disease
survivors who wanted to forge an easier path to available resources
for the people of Midcoast Maine afflicted by Lyme and tick-borne
diseases. In three short years, their year-round steadfast commitment
to providing free community resources has raised awareness and
education and, through their endless amount of support, touched and
helped many lives find their way back to wellness, back to the way
life in Maine was meant to be. In the Spring of 2016, their efforts
were recognized and they were made the Maine partner of the national
Lyme Disease Association.
MLDSE
and YouCaring share that common concept, by using a platform that
empowers people to help others overcome hardships and enjoy happier,
healthier lives.
HOW
CAN YOU HELP AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
In
the spring of 2017, MLDSE will be holding back-to-back life changing
events for the people of Midcoast Maine.
First,
on Saturday,
April 29, 2022,
MLDSE will be holding their 3rd Annual Midcoast Lyme Disease Support
& Education Conference from 8-5pm at the Wiscasset
Community Center, 242 Gardiner Rd (Rt27), Wiscasset Maine. Local and
national Lyme literate medical providers, researchers, laboratories
and vendors all under one roof will be on hand to share their
knowledge, resources, products and services. Attendees will be able
to interact with medical providers and receive information about
testing and treatment options as well as beneficial products and
services from local and national vendors. This informative and
educational conference is FREE and open to the public due in part to
grants and generous donations.
Then,
on Saturday,
May 6, 2022,
the 1st
Annual Midcoast Lyme Aide Benefit Ride and Concert ~ in memory of
Bill Chinnock ~ will be held at the Taste of Maine, Route 1,
Woolwich, Maine. Ridin’ Steel and Taste of Maine have joined
forces to combat Lyme Disease in Midcoast Maine with MLDSE and Ticked
Off Music Fest.
100%
of the proceeds raised will benefit the Midcoast Lyme Aide fund, a
fund established by MLDSE to help Mainers in financial need receive
assistance for testing for Lyme and tick-borne diseases. This event
will kick off at 12noon with a 3-hour Midcoast Loop motorcycle ride,
hosted by Ridin’ Steel, that will start and end back at the Taste
of Maine, where an epic fundraiser benefit concert featuring Rock ‘n
Roll Hall of Fame Legend, Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez, founding member
of the E-Street Band, along with legendary guitarist Jon Sebastian
Brice and NJ Blues Hall of Famers, Paul Whistler and Gary Cavico and
The Mallett Brothers Band will take place (for tickets please visit
our website).
MLDSE is a 501c3 nonprofit
organization so all donations are TAX-FREE
and go straight back into the community. Your generous financial gift
will stay local and help make a difference in the lives of Midcoast
Maine’s Lyme community.
